Internal Processes of a Turbocharged Engine

This week I completed a lot of research on the internal processes of a turbocharged engine. The problem I encountered was that a lot of literature focuses on naturally aspirated engines but I managed to find enough useful information for my project. Next week I will start preparing for interviews and conduct research on the effect boost pressure has on fuel economy.

Turbo Matching Research

This week I did research on matching a turbo to an engines flow. I found a great book called 'Turbo: Real World High-Performance Turbocharger Systems' by Jay K Miller which has a lot of useful information. The problem I ran into was trying to fit all the information into my assignment. Next week I will start my research on Volumetric Efficiency.

Transferring Information

This week I transferred the information I had in my Industry investigation that is relevant to the project. This included the rationale, aim, research questions, and some literature review. I didn't experience any problems this week as it was fairly straight forward. Next week I will start doing the technical literature review towards my project.

Introductory Week

For the first week I went to the class and gained an idea of how my project would be structured. I transferred the rationale, aims and, some literature review from my proposal and altered them to fit the project. Next week I will focus on the literature review for the project which will include calculations and technical information. The problems I faced this week was getting back into the schedule of uni and motivating myself to do the work. However after the class I felt more confident and had a productive afternoon of project writing.
